I’ve been playing with Twitter a lot recently, so I thought I’d post some tools and sites I’ve been using with Twitter.
The first is a great Twitter mashup I stumbled across today. It’s called Twittervision from Twittermap.com. It allows you to watch people update their twitter accounts in real time, based upon a google map. I think this is a great example of what mashups can be, so definitely head on over and check it out.
The second is simply a top 100 list for Twitter, but it is very interesting to see who’s the most popular, who’s updating the most, and who’s following the most people. Check it out at Twitterholic.com
Since some people are using Twitter as a more up to date away message, so here’s an easy way to interface it with Adium. All you need to type is %_Twitter to show your latest update anywhere in Adium. How easy is that?!
If you want a quick way to update your twitter without launching your browser, one way to do it is right from your dashboard. With Twidget, nothing could be more simple.
Finally, my favorite full featured Twitter interface is Twitterrific. If you haven’t heard of this yet, hurry up and get it for yourself from Iconfactory. You can update from it and see your friends’ updates with this simple app. As if you weren’t addicted enough…
And if you’d like to say hi, or you see what twitter is all about, check out mine!

Is this a sign that twitter is going mainstream? I have also noticed that you can’t hardly register with anything with twitter in the name. I give it 2 months before it gets bought by yahoo or google.
