I’ve been reading yewknee a lot recently. Generally interesting subjects covered on the blog and very well designed, which is a huge plus in my book. But it’s one of those internet personalities that I always love coming across.
Well it came to my attention that’s its run by one the same folks responsible for Silent Uproar, which I remember from way back when when I ran theTRC.net with my buddy Warren. TheTRC was our hardcore e-zine, before blogs were all the rage. I remember crossing paths with Silent Uproar when we would cover Far-Less, who has actually gone on to release some great records with Tooth and Nail. But anyway, it got me thinking. Where has my online musical presence gone? I tried reviving the theTRC a few times, first running it on Mambo for a little while, then turning it into Through It All. They all had a short life, and eventually fizzled. But my interest in the topic never did. Hardcore music. Indie music. Unsigned artists. Finding those gems that make your day. Well it’s gone on too long! I’ve decided I’ve got to do something about it.
Rather than starting a brand new site dedicated to music entirely, I’ve decided to incorporate it into this blog. I’m working on a few additions that will give the music feature a bit of a spotlight, but I want to talk about it again. It’s always been such a huge part of my life. It seems ridiculous that I don’t make it more a part of my online identity.
This doesn’t mean I’m going to stop anything I’m doing currently. It just means there’s going to be more to the blog.
@pixites interesting. I wish I knew the language so I could read everything. The album covers and english band and album names make it pretty easy to use though.
Instead of making it a new site entirely, why don’t you just put a link to a pixelspread.com/music section in the navigation?
@Brad I might create a category for it, but I’m gonna add it right into the blog. /music could come out of that though…
