Reader Trends

I rarely play with the Trends feature in Google Reader, but it is pretty cool.

From your 59 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 2,253 items, starred 31 items, shared 0 items, and emailed 0 items.

Over 2,000 read feeds seem excessive, but then again, just marking it as read counts as reading…

And my most starred blogs: kottke.org, yewknee.com, UNEASYsilence, The Big Noob, Computerlove, indexed, Smashing Magazine, Subtraction, Type for you, Signal vs. Noise, ShaunInman.com, FERAL PIG / the aural & visual art of aaron turner, Freakonomics Blog, 30gms, Daring Fireball

I find the most read feeds to be pretty useless. Daring Fireball always tops the list, just because Gruber posts constantly, so of course it’s most read if I just mark them as read every day.

I love the inactive feature with the trash icon right next to the feed though. Just look through who doesn’t update and delete the feed, rather than having to search through “Manage subscriptions.”
