I’ve been reading through The Documentary Blog for a while now, looking for some new documentaries to check out. I’ve watched a lot over the past year, so I thought I’d list some of my favorites, and ask what everyone else has been enjoying. Here’s my list:
So what do I still need to see? What am I missing out on?
edit: forgot American Hardcore, had to add it
May I suggest The Documentaries of Louis Malle & American Hardcore … two of my favorite documentary releases from the past year.
“Word Wars” is pretty good, especially if you liked Wordplay.
“Who killed the electric car?” is eye opening.
One documentary that sounds interesting but is actually quite boring: “10 mph.” Seriously, watch it when you have nothing better to do.
Just watched “When the Levees Broke” – it was heavy, but the photography is really amazing. Other than that I’ve seen most of the ones you listed…Helvitica is badass – saw it at SXSW.
