As any designer can tell you, the hardest site to design is always your own. As is the case, I can never help myself when it comes to redesigning this one, no matter how long the previous design has been live. So with that, I give you Pixelspread Version 7. I decided I needed a little space to dedicate to my latest projects, since more and more seem to be popping up. I also wanted to make everything a bit more readable. I was definitely ready to move on from the tiny text and black background.
I’ll be working on the site a bit more in the next few days, so there might be some visual tweaks you’ll notice. I’ll also be sure to write up a little bit some techniques used, like the CSS quote bubbles pop ups on the project icons.
Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. I’ve got some more projects in the works right now, so stay tuned, and grab a feed.
Nice! I am loving the circles.
@Steve it is a habit. i don’t if it’s a bad one or a good one, but i like this design better than the rest.
I used to redesign my site almost every month. But I just focused on updating more and ignoring the actual design… I think I am doing pretty good. I have only done a few tweaks in the last 6 months.
Best design by far man. Love it simple and clean!!!
I’m definitely not sorry to see the old version go. This one’s the best by far!
P.S. Same habit here ;)
@Jon really glad you like this version. Sorry you didn’t like the last.
I’m also in the process of redesigning my blog. Thats why I haven’t wrote an article in a month or so. But I plan on launching the new design during or after the holidays.
I used to redesign my blog like every other week myself, but I’ve realized that people tend to stop visiting if the layout changes too much too often. So although I agree with redesigning is awesome and good for use designers. Not everyone enjoys a new layout.
But I do like the readability this new design offers! Keep up the good work Matt.
I like the new design a lot, though I also thought the last one kicked ass as well. This makes me want to redesign my blog, though I don’t know anything about designing. :(
